INTERVIEW WITH MR. WAYNE RICHARDS, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF BROCKMAN RESOURCES LIMITED (BRM)

“Native Title Agreement Signed for Marillana Project”

http://www.brr.com.au/event/52036

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2008, 03:45 PM.

BRR    Today on Boardroomradio we’re joined by Mr. Wayne Richards, the Managing Director of Brockman Resources. Wayne, great to have you back

10                    on Boardroomradio.

BRM    Good morning, Joel, and good morning fellow listeners and it’s a pleasure to be here.

15        BRR    Now, Brockman has announced the signing of a landmark Native Title Mining Agreement for the Marillana Project. Wayne, could you give us an overview of the process to date?

BRM    Yes, thank you Joel. As we said we’re very pleased to announce this morning that we’ve signed a Native Title Mining Agreement with the Martu Idja

20                    Banyjima or known as (MIB) group. We’ve been working quite extensively over the twelve months building the understanding of a relationship with the group for the Marillana Project and that culminated in a recent trip with the board up to the local community and visit to the site and working with what they call the working group of MIB at account to both commercial and

25                    opportunity agreements around the Marillana Project in the MIB people per se. So it was obviously a win-win for both us and allows us as Brockman now to proceed down the path of submitting its mining proposal with native total acceptance and agreement by the MIB group. As part of that process, we’ve obviously made sure it’s a symbiotic arrangement between the two

30                    groups as well as the synergies between the mining activities and the heritage and environment, obviously ensuring that we maintain and preserve any heritage or any environmental aspects of the history on the site. Through this process we’ve also looked at employment opportunities and training opportunities for the MIB people, as well as working with them albeit to

35                    understand the culture and developing cultural awareness as part of our development training of their employees in the future. So again in summary,

great outcome…it’s been a good process that we’ve gone through with MIB. I thoroughly enjoyed that as well as members of the MIB. I think there’s a good trust and working relationships between Maitland and Slim and the group and

40                    I thank them for that and we look forward to developing the Marillana Project in conjunction with them. Thank you.

BRR    Now, Wayne finally, could you perhaps update our listeners on how the Marillana Project has been tracking and perhaps some milestones that they

45                    can look out for over the next few months?

BRM    Again, thank you Joel. Everything is going well. We’re holding to our original strategy and plan with Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 1 is in its third month of its Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and the work around that both from a design engineering and the metallurgical point of views is progressing well. To that end, we have one assay, one sonic, and one coal/well rig on site this week, so we’re taking further metallurgical samples to allow more conclusive and complete bench-test and continuous test around the potential design of Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the project, so that’s really good work. We’ve got

5                      some good people on board to help us with that. We are in the point of awarding Stage 2 to the preferred engineer and that work and finalization with that contract is in place, so that’s progressing well. The site is progressing well, the teams’ growing and that’s culminated this week in the arrival on Tuesday of Brendan Hynes, a new project manager for Stage 1. He is being

10                    brought in to be dedicated to that project. That’s allowing Paul Bartlett to focus on the award of Stage 2 and work with the alliance on the verse and some of rail design issues that we’re working with. So we are growing the team as previously stated. Going forward we look to conclude the Native Title agreement with Neapali group, which is one of the other cultural and heritage

15                    original landowners on the Marillana Project, continuing negotiations for rail and port access and talking with the port around the in and around the hub of development plans. So again, everything is progressing well, we’re pairing on and continuing to meet our targets and we thank you for your support.

20        BRR    Wayne, thanks very much for your time today. Thanks for talking to Boardroomradio.

            BRM    Thank you.
