INTERVIEW WITH PHILIP BRUCE, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF HILL END GOLD LIMITED (HEG)
“Progressing Strongly At Hill End And Hargraves Projects”
http://www.brr.com.au/event/49015
TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2008, 12:00 PM.
BRR Good morning and welcome to Boardroom Radio. Today, we are speaking with Mr. Philip Bruce, Managing Director of Hill End Gold Limited. Thanks for
10 joining us today, Philip.
HEG You are welcome, Eddie.
BRR Philip, we see you have released your quarterly report today and it has been a fantastic quarter with Hill End Gold progressing very strongly. Did you want
15 to give us an update of some of the highlights of the quarter?
HEG Sure. The last quarter that we had was a very busy one. We made excellent progress on a number of fronts. The main area, I guess, that has people’s attention is the underground development and how we are going with the high-grade areas that we have been opening up on the M2 in the Paxton’s.
20 The M2, as we noted, is now being prepared for stoping and the grades that we are looking at pulling out of there are going to be approaching about 2 ounces a tonne. So that is the initial stope into that M2 and the grade of the M2 that we hit in the development was probably about four times higher than what we drilled out and that is the sort of response we are expecting when we
25 go through the other areas within the Reward resource area that we are opening up, particularly on the Paxton’s and the Steven’s lodes, which are currently being developed towards out of the shaft that we put in. On the Paxton’s particularly, we have put up a couple of access rises from the amalgamated level and the crosscuts from the shaft are currently hitting
30 towards those to connect them up. So underground, we made a terrific progress. On the exploration, we made terrific progress as well and particularly at Hargraves, where the mineralisation there that we have been drilling has come back pretty well as we modelled. A zone that we are looking at there about 1000 metres long, we have jolted down to about 400 metres
35 depth and looks like it is a zone with multiple zones of mineralisation. As you go down the hole, we hit repeating zones and we see those have got continuity for a couple of hundred metres. The width of the main zone of mineralisation in that is about 50 metres wide. We have got one good hole that we announced in the quarterly and we will be putting follow-up
40 announcements out as results come through. But that is a new zone, a new area that we picked up. But Hargraves, mid of last year, we have done enough drilling there now to understand what the mineralisation looks like and we have got drilling that is coming back with terrific results. So there are five or six holes that we are still waiting for (inaudible)(0:02:43) and what we see
45 with the mineralisation that is a fairly well continuous zone of mineralisation, about 1000 metres long, about 40 or 50 metres wide. Each of the zones of mineralisation within that main zone, which was called Big Nugget Hill, is about 10 to 20 metres thick and we are looking at having the resource completed on that by the end of this month.
BRR Philip, thank you very much for your time today and insights there into what has been happening at Hill End Gold. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
5 HEG Thanks very much, Eddie.
