INTERVIEW WITH JULIAN FORD, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ZAMBEZI RESOURCES LIMITED (ZRL)
“Allows Focus on Advanced Copper Projects in Sweden”
http://www.brr.com.au/event/48935
MONDAY, AUGUST 4, 2008, 3:00 PM.
BRR Today on Boardroom Radio, we are talking to Mr. Julian Ford, the Managing Director of Zambezi Resources. Julian, glad to have you on Boardroom
10 Radio.
ZRL Good day, Joel.
BRR Julian, you have got an announcement out to the market this morning, some further drilling at your Kangaluwi Copper Project, some good intercepts there.
15 Could you perhaps take our listeners through some of the key figures?
ZRL Yes, Joel. I guess Kangaluwi gets better and better as we drill it out. We are getting 30 metres at 2.3% copper and some watery sections as well. Interestingly, we are also getting about 0.8 grams gold in some of those. The project is looking pretty good. Importantly also, the VTEM is working for us
20 there so a bit different time channel to what we had at Chisawa, but really it is just a brilliant targeting mechanism and that Kangaluwi project proper now has gone out to about 3.2 kilometres. We have only really drilled about 1.2 kilometres of it and so it is all pretty good news.
25 BRR So, Julian, in light of your announcement late last week on the strategic review for Zambezi, how does Kangaluwi now fit into your program?
ZRL Well, Kangaluwi is the core project in the portfolio right now. What we will do at Kangaluwi, we will just retain one drill rig there. It will test the extension of Kangaluwi main and some of those other projects, Chisawa and Imboo, and
30 two other ones. Really, the aim at Kangaluwi is to target these projects and be ready for a drill-out program in 2009 when the market improves.
BRR Will that drill-out program focus predominantly on Kangaluwi main?
ZRL No. The drill-out program next year, we anticipate will be additional projects
35 other than Kangaluwi main. At the moment, we have drilled probably 40,000 metres at Kangaluwi and so we should have a reasonable size resource there. But really, we are sort of looking at 40,000 or 400,000 tonnes of contained copper for this project, and at this stage, Kangaluwi main looks like we will get most of that there before we have to go to the other projects.
40
BRR It says a lot about the quality of Kangaluwi that you have drilled 40,000 metres and there is still a huge amount of extensions that remain unexplored.
ZRL Yes. Joel, it is a big project. It is about 28 kilometres of strike length. We really have only tested probably 10% or 15% of that right now. The aim is to
45 probably test at least 15% of that strike length at least for the few holes this drill season and be in a position to hopefully drill out a major world-class project in 2009 when we expect the market to improve.
BRR Julian, thanks for those comments. We will certainly have a chat when you have some more feedback from the drilling at Kangaluwi. Thanks for your time.
ZRL Yes. Thanks, Joel.
