BRR Today, Boardroom Radio speaks with the Managing Director of Novogen, Mr. Christopher Naughton. Welcome to Boardroom Radio, Chris.
10 NRT Good morning.
BRR Chris, Novogen did raise A$5.5.M for the investment in Marshall Edwards which is a US subsidiary company. Can you just tell us a little about the capital raising and Marshall Edwards?
15 NRT Certainly, well, Marshall Edwards is our majority-owned subsidiary US company separately listed on NASDAQ and it is the company that's running our Phase 3 anti-cancer drug trial for phenoxodiol. This is for ovarian cancer operating around the world in up to 70 different hospitals now. It is an expensive program and Marshall Edwards, of course, can expedite that
20 program if it applies more funding to the exercise. Well, Marshall Edwards has raised US$10 million to facilitate that clinical trial and of that, some of it came from Novogen, its parent company. Some came from a US investor, Oppennheimer, who has been a good follow-up of anti-cancer story and the technology so far. So two participants, OppenheimerFunds of New York and
25 Novogen of Sydney and New Canaan. So it has been a good raising for Marshall Edwards and it has been raising at market price and in this environment raising US$10M million at market is a good effort. Novogen's raised, that it has facilitated its contribution was actually raised at a premium from one of our significant shareholders, El Coronado Holdings, which is the
30 investor out of the US. As a result of this, US$5.5 million came into Novogen from El Coronado. That has moved El Coronado’s holding to 19.9 of Novogen. Novogen currently has about half its stock held in the US and as you may be aware, Novogen is dual listed both on, well actually primarily listed on the ASX but also listed through the ADR Program on NASDAQ and
35 we have over the last few years built up a US investment base to add for more than 50% of the company now. So it has been a very good result for Novogen and an excellent result for Marshall Edwards.
BRR Chris, it certainly is a good result considering the market volatility at the
40 moment. Thanks for the update today on Novogen.
