INTERVIEW WITH MICHELE MORRISON, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF IMAGINE UN LIMITED (IUL)
“ImagineGreenPlan Expected to Generate Additional $5mil in Revenue”
http://www.brr.com.au/event/48017
TUESDAY, JULY 22, 2008, 12:00 PM.
BRR This afternoon, Boardroom Radio welcomes the Chief Executive Officer of Imagine Un Limited, Michele Morrison. Michele, thanks for joining us.
10 IUL Thank you, Cameron.
BRR Michele, Imagine is a very interesting company. First of all, can you tell us about how Imagine ended up on the ASX and some of your background on how you ended up with Imagine.
15 IUL Okay. Well, Imagine listed on the ASX before I got involved with the company and it listed by (inaudible) (0:00:21) reverse takeover with Horizon Global. My background, I guess, on how I met Imagine was I actually met the founder on a plane and thought that it was probably one of the only real quadruple bottom line businesses I've come across that actually was created for the
20 purpose of making a difference.
BRR So, Michele, what's your background?
IUL My background is construction and developing major construction infrastructure projects and then I was Managing Director of a company that
25 delivered lots of construction infrastructure projects. I think probably the biggest high profile project was the BHP Billiton global headquarters in Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
BRR Fantastic. Now, to the business, what does Imagine do?
30 IUL Imagine is a national member-based organization that attracts members or customers by offering them discounts in their day-to-day living and/or business expenses. The ImagineGreenPlan, which we’re really excited about, is the unique product that tackles the high cost of carbon offset. It works by bundling our members or customers utility which is obviously
35 telecommunications, energy and other associated products. They're spending on their utilities, defining savings and then channel some of those gained savings into an Imagine carbon offset package.
BRR Alright. And what is a typical small business would approach Imagine and
40 what’s the process that goes through to become a member of Imagine?
IUL Okay. I mean, you can log on to our web site www.imagine.com.au and become a member and then someone will contact you about signing you up and signing up what products you've got, what products you haven't got and whether or not we can do better right for you. The process is changing at the
45 moment with the recent announcement about the fact that we're about to launch energy and carbon credits online. We've had Toco online for some time now and now it's under our own Imagine brand telecommunications company, but we are very, very close to signing agreements with the energy in the carbon offset companies so that members can not only just become members online, but they can also activate products online.
BRR This is a very interesting (inaudible) (0:02:30) mood obviously with Garnaut
5 report coming out recently. You're starting at the ImagineGreenPlan.
IUL Yes, yes.
BRR Can you tell us a little bit more about the plan and how you envisioned generating revenues?
10 IUL Well, the plans are exciting because at the moment, I mean, obviously the Garnaut review and now the government's green papers. Its timing is amazing on the launch of this product for us. We know that businesses want to make difference. I mean, I was on a committee for Melbourne climate change task force. I think the first objective identified was that businesses
15 actually do want to have something to do with helping the climate issues at the moment, but most businesses are run so close to the wire with profitability. They can't afford to take money off the bottom line to invest in today's packages. So the SMA business proposal for the GreenPlan is that they would have one business to claim on and we would save the money on
20 their traditional bills for that plus a one business mobile line which we would get at better rates than what you get off the street. Green Energy, not that we can't necessarily save money off Green Energy, but we'll bundle altogether with the money that you save on the fixed landline and the mobile products. We can actually put that into carbon outfitting and we're working with Co2
25 Australia on that and with another listed company.
BRR Right. You mentioned in your recent release to the ASX that you’re estimating increase revenue of $5 million.
IUL Yes.
30
BRR How do you come to that amount?
IUL Well, we basically, I mean, if you work out the cost and the trails that we’re getting. I mean, a mobile customer would spend $70 a month on average. A six business line is about $144 a month. Green Energy is about $100 a bit
35 more than that and with the revenue, we did these products we’re going to collect the cash on and then we pay the provider so we never get caught with providers withholding commissions off us again.
BRR Right. Okay. Who you made your shareholders and what are your plans over
40 the next six months?
IUL Okay. The Beville family are our major shareholders. They are being basically supporting us and funding us as we’ve been running on debt capitals to the year that I’ve been with the company. I’ve only been here since June 2007 and Rich Evans, obviously the founder, is the major shareholder and I am
45 going to end up with shareholding when I deliver this thing. The plan for the next six months is to really lock down on the product so we can start really making money out of the business. We will be focusing a lot on customer acquisition, in particular the GreenPlan. And of course, we can also, if customers don’t want a carbon offset, we can actually sell the Black Plan and they can still have the products, but if they don’t pay they get the savings as opposed to going into carbon offset. We are also launching the GreenHomePlan. So, we are doing the same thing for individuals. There is obviously more money to be made on business customers, but the Imagine
5 philosophy is basically John Lennon’s song, people and all working as one, so there’s no way we want to ever leave anyone out of our plan. We’ll be doing a lot of more A marketing and scripting and selling to our members. There are a number of members who joined Imagine in the last few years who haven’t actually activated products yet, but they’re starting to activate
10 now which is very good. We’re telemarketing a lot of products and we’ll also be developing the technology for this business which will be integrating out into the OneBill solution and the web development interfaces. So, yeah, we’re pretty excited about where were going in the next six months.
15 BRR A plenty of opportunity in the area too.
IUL Yes.
BRR Who are your major competitors and when would you expect to be cash flow positive?
20 IUL It’s a very interesting question who the major competitors are cause I don’t think anyone is doing what we’re doing. There are a number of companies out there who is selling, who will do assessment of your bills and work our way go cheaper. I don’t believe anyone, not that anyone I’m aware of, has come up with the OneBill plan, so that we will be billing and billing assistance
25 so that the provider then get paid off that we do. And I certainly not aware of any company out there that is looking towards donating percentages of their savings to philanthropic and charitable causes.
BRR I mentioned that a lot of our listeners would be interested in what you’re
30 proposing to do. If they want to get any more information about the company or in fact ask questions about the business, what’s the best way they can get in touch?
IUL Well, they can call us on 1300-Imagine or they could go to our website and make inquiries through our website.
35
BRR Terrific or I would remind listeners that they are able to ask questions through the webcast which we can then send through to Michele, to me and to (inaudible) (0:07:12) date.
IUL Oh, good.
40
BRR Michele, thank you very much for your time.
IUL Okay.
BRR That was interesting chatting with you and getting to know Imagine a little bit
45 better. The best of luck with you and we look forward to catching up with you as the company progresses.
IUL Thank you, Cameron. It’s been my pleasure.
